Progress update

We stopped writing in July, and...... no, we aren't dead seeing as August and September have passed, with September almost over. We came back and diligently started rehearsing again. A new track, the seventh of the album, has been put on the table, weighed, structured, and is now ready to move to the pre-mastering phase. So we are actually working to try and close the album within the timeframe we set for ourselves. We might not pull it off, but we're trying. Surely we won't rush just to meet a deadline—maybe a rushed finished record would show, and we don't want that. This comes out of a profound respect we have for the people who follow us, because for us they aren't just "the public" as it's generally defined; they are people, and as such they deserve absolute respect. The reasons for this respect are manifold, but the first one in absolute terms is the patience shown over this twenty-year span of music, waiting for new works to come out and coming to see us the very rare times we've played live. This time it's different: behind this album there is a profound commitment, a reconstruction not of the band—which has never broken up—but of feeling, feeling in a different way, less with the ears and more with emotion. There's a transformation of sound because there's a different perception; we were discussing it last night during the last rehearsal session. There has been a true shift in style due to Xeno's deafness and his different perception of sound. Even the harmonies have changed, as have the atmospheres and how the sounds are created. It's a fascinating topic of discussion; he says he hears and perceives everything in a sharper and more selective way, even though we are sometimes left bewildered by the sounds he produces and by the harmonies. But his way of playing has changed; he constantly experiments in search of God knows what, but he's alive, and that's what matters....
