Update from Galactica
As previously announced, on May 6th we will withdraw the preview for the reasons already explained. Meanwhile, work at Galactica continues; we are in the final stages of recording the latest track we’ve composed, and I expect to finalize it definitively this Wednesday as scheduled.
There are also ideas for new tracks that we will discuss during next Wednesday's recording session; in all likelihood, time permitting, we should also manage to lay down a draft for a new piece. There is plenty in the works, which obviously brings us closer to completing the album FENICE.
The integration of the new synthesizer is progressing rapidly. It is very similar to the Neutron we were already using, but it possesses a different sonic grain that complements the Neutron perfectly. I would say it’s the ideal companion; the Proton is certainly more advanced, being a later build and design, but it maintains that shared structure with the Neutron that makes their use 100% compatible.
The textures are now much richer and more complex, even though the primary use of these machines is not intended for melodic lines but rather for creating a harmonic floor and a weave of effects that characterize our sound. Managing these machines—since they lack presets—is complex, especially in live situations. However, we are absolutely convinced that it will have a significant impact during live performances because it will make the listening experience truly unique in every show.
Considerable practice will be required before bringing FENICE to a live setting, but we are certain that anyone who comes to hear us will not be disappointed; the impact will be strong both musically and visually.
